Dr. Ronald P. Karlsberg is Clinical Professor of Medicine, Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars-Sinai and the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He practices clinical cardiology with the Cardiovascular Medical Group of Southern California and is President and one of the Founders of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation. He also oversees the Foundation’s private nonprofit research and philanthropic activities.

 

His particular expertise is in Preventive and Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Karlsberg has received hundreds of research grants, has published numerous peer reviewed papers and book chapters, and is a frequent invited speaker at local, national and international meetings. He is a recipient of many awards and honors including Teacher of the Year.

 

Dr. Karlsberg was a pioneer in the early medical internet, and has a keen interest in advanced digital medical imaging, artificial intelligence, mobile personal health devices including a personal electrocardiogram, electronic medical record system, big data and new devices and treatments for cardiology. For more than a decade he has led a course that attracts and trains physicians worldwide to master and become certified in advanced medical imaging. He is a recognized expert in incorporating emerging state-of-the-art treatments and cutting-edge medical devices into clinical practice.
